150 MW PV + 150 MW BESS Project in Gmina Olsztynek, Poland – In Environmental Permitting

Warmia Wind & Solar Energy (WWSE) is developing a hybrid solar and battery storage project of up to 150 MW PV and up to 150 MW BESS, on land in gmina Olsztynek, powiat olsztyński, in Poland’s Warmia-Mazury region. WWSE’s shareholders are themselves the owners of land on which the project is sited. The project is currently progressing through Poland’s environmental permitting process, with a full environmental impact report (raport OOŚ) due for submission in October 2026.

- RDOŚ has confirmed a full environmental impact report is required, given the site’s location within an Obszar Chronionego Krajobrazu (protected landscape area)
- Full-year ecological field survey: three quarterly survey cycles complete, final cycle concludes September 2026
- Acoustic impact analysis: COMPLETE
- Landscape impact analysis: COMPLETE
- Full raport environmental impact report due for submission: October 2026
- The project site falls within the “strefa otwarta” (open zone) category under gmina Olsztynek’s draft general plan (plan ogólny), currently before the council for adoption
